God isn’t asking you to figure it out. He’s asking you to trust that He already has

It is with great sadness that we write to you today. The farm we’ve had the pleasure of growing the last 3 seasons is coming to an end. We have decommissioned all the animals to safe homes and are planning our next steps as a family. Thank you to Navarro Farm, Tulip Tree Gardens Co. & Kakadoodle Farm for taking the bulk of our animals.

Staying true to our dream; working, growing, cooking & creating closer to nature. Jay is securing a restaurant with his same vision of field to table and I am going back to teaching, helping kids find their inspirations & creativity. Everything we hoped would soon blossom at the farm. Unfortunately, there are things we can’t control. We will never fully understand God’s thinking, but that’s the beauty of it. There is beauty in the unknown. A beauty in knowing that God, who is all-knowing and endlessly loving, has the answers. A beauty in being able to fully trust Him.

We’re working closely with local farms & we’ll continue to attend farmers markets with our all-natural HOUSE OF APOTHECARY products. Stay tuned on our social media accounts to see where we’ll be this summer. We have land for our garden beds & hives so we can continue creating what we started in 2020.

I love the quote by Henry Ford, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing”. We went with the choice that scared us most before, & we’re finding ourselves in that same position again but with this, we already know those are the choices where we grow most.

‘Tigerlily’s Farm Adventure’ was never meant to be a physical location, but an outlook we wanted to give our daughter and share with the community. It’s unfolding seems just like those choose your own adventure children's book series, where the story is written from a second-person point of view, with the reader assuming the role of the protagonist and making choices that determine the main character’s actions and the plot’s outcome. It feels like we’re navigating the big question at the bottom of the page, ‘go to page 14’ or ‘go to page 40’. We’ll bounce back since finding out this news in January but we’re at peace with this decision, turning back to page 14.

Thank you for following along & supporting us, we hope you continue to do so. Our website and social media accounts will capture a lot of these life changes. You can find some of these on tigerlilyshouseofapothecary.com & tattooedchefconsulting.com. Find out where Jay’s cooking & what I am creating.

When we told our daughter the news she got teary eyed, and I explained to her it was ok to have many different feelings because this was heavy. I asked her if she had any questions. She gave Jay a big hug and he rocked her a bit. She rose up & looked out at the backyard, we asked her what she was feeling. We sat with the question for a moment and she replied with the sky reflected in her glossy eyes, ‘grateful’.
